Hundreds of people have registered interest in 79 new homes taking shape across 8.25 acres of land on Stourport Road.

Known as Sandbourne Gardens, the development offers everything from two-bedroom properties well-suited to first time buyers and downsizers, to substantial five-bedroom family homes.

Prices for the properties will be revealed at the launch event.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “We have a database of more than 350 potential purchasers who’ve enquired about the homes we’re building in Bewdley. They’ve been eager to find out more about the properties and we can’t wait to give them their first glimpse inside the show home. We’re extending an open invitation to anyone looking for a new home in the Worcestershire area to come along. They’ll be able to view the professionally styled and fully furnished show home, helping them appreciate the quality and finish of our homes.”

The show home is an example of the four-bedroom detached Blenheim. It’s a generously proportioned, double-fronted home, designed with modern living in mind.

On one side of the hallway is a dual aspect lounge, with French doors opening out to the garden, with the combined kitchen, dining and family room on the opposite side.

The dining area is at the front, with the kitchen in the middle – putting it very much at the heart of family living. The family area has bi-fold doors leading to the rear garden. A utility and cloakroom complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a en-suite and dressing room. Bedroom two benefits from a shower room, meaning the family bathroom serves just two bedrooms.

Heating and hot water in Elan’s new homes in Bewdley will be powered by air source heat pumps, in place of traditional gas boilers, with underfloor heating to the ground floor of the properties. Every home will have an electric vehicle charging point.

Around 40% of the development will be classified as “green infrastructure”, providing lots of open space for residents to enjoy. Train-shaped items will feature in a play area within the new community in a nod to the neighbouring Severn Valley Railway Line.

The new homes will also bring more than £380,000 of investment in the local area including funding for education, health, highways and traffic measures, sports facilities and a biodiversity offsetting contribution of almost £41,000 for the provision and management of meadow grassland at Burlish Meadows parkland.

The show home at Sandbourne Gardens opens this Friday (June 6) and will then be open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit the Elan Homes website.
