Japanese knotweed discovered in Norton Canes

A huge outbreak of Japanese Knotweed has been discovered in Norton Canes on the footpath that runs from Brownhills Road to Chasewater near the junction of Redlion Lane.

The outbreak which is some 30 meters by 10 meters and stands some 3 meters high has been reported to Cannock Chase Council who should deal with it. 

People living in the area should check their gardens and seek specialist help if they find it as it can cause problems with the sale of their properties. Look for the heart shaped almost smooth, but not shiny leaves, and the reddish stems that zigzag between.
