The contract extension, which is until March 2026, is a testament to the positive impact the service has had in helping people find and sustain meaningful employment while managing their well-being.
The Employment Advisor role within Talking Therapies has played a crucial part in supporting individuals struggling with mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, providing tailored advice on returning to work, staying employed, and improving workplace well-being. By integrating employment support within NHS Talking Therapies, this service has helped countless individuals regain confidence and stability in both their professional and personal lives.
Selina Cudjoe, Team Manager for Talking Therapies Employment Service, said: "This contract extension is fantastic news, ensuring that people continue to receive the employment support they need alongside their mental health treatment. Work is a key part of many people’s recovery, and our Employment Advisors play a vital role in helping individuals manage their mental health while building fulfilling careers.

“With this contract extension, we remain committed to enhancing mental health and employment outcomes for those who need it most. We are proud of the difference this service is making and look forward to supporting even more people in the future."
The extension also brings stability and continuity for the dedicated Employment Advisor team, who have been instrumental in delivering high-quality, personalised support. Their work remains essential in helping individuals overcome workplace challenges, access training and job opportunities, and develop the confidence to move forward.
Since its inception in November 2023, Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies have helped over 2,300 people across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
