Ofsted praise for Stourport school
Ofsted has praised Stourport Primary Academy for having high expectations for pupils, with dedicated staff intent on delivering the best quality education and care they can offer.

The school, which is part of the Severn Academies Educational Trust, was judged to have taken “effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection”.
It was marked “good” for its quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.
Alison Maybury, head of school, said: “I am delighted the inspector recognised the many strengths of our school, the dedication and knowledge of our staff, and that our children are at the heart of everything we do.”
The inspector said pupils’ behaviour was “considerate and respectful” and the “warm and nurturing relationships that staff develop with pupils help then to feel safe”.
She found the curriculum had been developed to meet high expectations and was well sequenced and well planned.
Her report noted that attendance has improved and pupils have opportunities to take responsibility and contribute to their school, preparing them well for the future.
Pupils with special needs are identified accurately and supported well and the inspector also found a strength in the teaching of phonics.
She recommended teachers in some subjects check what pupils know so they can adapt the curriculum and have more opportunities for early years children to reinforce number and letter recognition.
Shelley Reeves-Walters, executive headteacher of the academy trust’s six primary schools, said: “I am delighted that Ofsted has recognised the hard work and dedication of the staff in nurturing and supporting their wonderful pupils to be the best they can and ready to move onto the stage of their education.”
