The self-contained building will provide vital support to individuals across the Black Country who are navigating grief.

The opening was celebrated with a special event attended by hospice staff and volunteers, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mike Brown of Dreamland Bedding. Dreamland Bedding generously donated £10,000 towards the creation of this facility.

Kerrie Jones, Bereavement Services Lead at the hospice, said: “We are deeply grateful to Mike and Matt at Dreamland Bedding for their generous support and funding which has helped bring this important space to life. Their commitment to The Mary Stevens Hospice doesn't go unnoticed, and this facility will help us reach more people in our community who are struggling with grief.

"We hope The Lodge will be a place of comfort, reflection and connection for those navigating their bereavement journey," added Kerrie Jones. “We are honored to now share it with our local community and hope it becomes a source of support to those who need it most.”

The Lodge has two dedicated adult bereavement therapy rooms, providing a safe and private space for individual support. Recognising the needs of younger individuals experiencing loss, the centre also includes a room for child therapy and support.

Furthermore, the building offers essential office space for the Bereavement Services team and a comfortable breakout area for staff and volunteers. This dedicated unit marks a significant step forward in The Mary Stevens Hospice's commitment to providing compassionate care that extends beyond end-of-life support.

The Lodge is located at 221 Hagley Road, Stourbridge, DY8 2JR
