“3 Hammers has always impressed us,” comments James Rogers, who Co-owns Golf & Leisure Group with his wife Candice. “The facilities, personnel and services here combine to create the perfect golf experience for users of all ages and abilities. Ian Bonser and his team have had an incredibly significant impact on a local and national level, and we are excited to build on this fantastic legacy.”

Whilst the day to day running of 3 Hammers will remain unchanged, there are plans to adopt some of the recent range renovations implemented at Bristol Golf Centre, which have made the range experience even more appealing for customers. Carl Tomlin, Managing Director Golf & Leisure Group, explains, “Our new ball delivery system, automated Tee-Ups and Multiplayer game offerings are pretty unique and add a completely different dimension to the customer experience in Bristol. We want to bring innovative ideas like this to 3 Hammers. Creating new, exciting ways for people to engage with golf and with each other is something we all benefit from.”

Over the last 39 years, 3 Hammers has pioneered innovative technologies, created unique outreach programmes and marked the beginning of golf industry careers for dozens of people including Tour star Aaron Rai and internet sensations Me and My Golf. The work of 3 Hammers has impressed far and wide and has been acknowledged with a number of awards including the new ‘Golf Facility of the Year Award’ at the recent England Golf Awards.

“Winning Golf Facility of the Year was the cherry, on the icing, on top of the cake for me,” comments former 3 Hammers owner Ian Bonser. “It was such a special evening, shared with the people who have supported me and made 3 Hammers the wonderful place it is today. James and Carl are passionate about making golf accessible and fun, which makes them the perfect people to take 3 Hammers to the next level. I wish them the absolute best of luck for the future.”

HMH Golf & Leisure acted in the sale. Tom Marriott, the Managing Director of HMH said; “Having sold The Bristol Golf Centre to James a few years ago, I knew that before long he would be looking for another site. 3 Hammers Golf Complex is highly regarded, and the sale is one of the first of the new generation of stand-alone, golf-centric family leisure businesses.”
