St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School is looking for funding to create a Fitness Fun Primary Gym, where children of all abilities can enjoy exercise and workouts.
Mike Goodall, head of school, said: “We have developed some fantastic outdoor health and fitness resources, but there are, of course, considerable periods of the school year when it is too cold and wet to use.
“By reconfiguring a few rooms, we have created the space needed to provide all-year resources such as rowing machines, yoga mats and aerobic steppers.
“We hope it will help our children establish good habits for life. Physical fitness also positively impacts on a child’s ability to learn and to avoid mental ill-health.”
With three worthy bids for customers to choose from, the school is set to bag at least £500 but hopes enough will choose their project to win first place and £1,500.
Customers can vote with the blue tokens, given on all purchases, in Tesco stores throughout Wyre Forest until June 30.
The Tesco Stronger Starts grant programme, delivered in partnership with Groundwork UK, helps schools and community groups support physical health and mental wellbeing.
