The teams from Vision Labs, Lens Online and International Glazing Services (IGS) joined forces to support a wide variety of local organisations and causes throughout the year. Colleagues gave their time to Offmore Primary School to turn an old classroom into a wellbeing room, helped to decorate Foley Park Primary’s forest school, supported the local mental health charity Reach Out, walked dogs for a number of rescue centres and arranged regular litter picks along Stourport Road as part of the Wyre Forest District Council’s ‘Adopt a Street’ scheme.
‘It was amazing to see colleagues across all three sites get involved to support some incredible initiatives in our local community,’ says Rachel Baldwin, operations manager at Lens Online. ‘We’ve pledged volunteering hours for the last couple of years now, and we find that by offering our time, rather than supporting organisations through fundraising, we’re able to provide hands-on support to those who need it. We’re really proud of the team’s efforts, and we’re looking forward to getting stuck in again this financial year to help as many local causes as possible.’
Between them, the three businesses - Vision Labs, Lens Online and International Glazing Services (IGS) - provide lens surfacing as well as stocking and distributing lenses and contact lenses to Specsavers UK optical businesses.
