The Partners Dr Kalia and Dr Nagra and all the other GPs and staff here are all proud of the progress we have made in such a short space of time with two members of our team even starting up a group for anyone that is feeling lonely in the surrounding area to the surgery and to say that it has really taken off is an understatement.
The group is called the “Chitter Chatter Group” and it is every other Wednesday starting at 2.30pm. It is run by our two fabulous prescription clerks Jude and Elaine, they now have 13 members in the group and they all have a great time together, they exchange stories, they have a good old sing song together, they have raffles, they play bingo and there are prizes for all the winners. They serve tea, coffee with biscuits and cakes and even sugar free treats, they have the lot.
They recently had an Easter Bonnet Parade with a fantastic little buffet for all the group to enjoy and all the members took the time to make their own Easter bonnets with a huge Easter egg awarded to the winner!
There are people that can go week to week without really seeing anyone not speaking to many people and the feed back that we have had has been so heartwarming as some members have said that this has helped them not only with being able to leave the house but with their confidence in meeting new people. So anyone out there locally please don’t feel lonely as we have the group for you come along and meet us, Jude and Elaine would love you to be a new Chitter Chatter member! They are already taking about where they are all going for their Christmas meal out!
