Wolf finds new home at Wildside
A wolf called Heinz has been officially introduced to his new habitat, the woodlands at Wildside Activity Centre, Whitmore Reans. Heinz was originally created as an addition to the Wolves in Wolves project by traditional signwriter Meg Gregory of Scribe Signwriting. Meg joined Heinz at Wildside to deliver wolf inspired creative activities which are part of Wildside's Green Match Fund 'create and donate' programme that also featured a workshop with Wolverhampton Poet Laureate Kuli Kohli.

Dr Paul Darke CEO of Outside Centre who originally commissioned Heinz and have kindly donated him to Wildside commented: "We are proud to partner with Wildside and see this as a valuable opportunity to strengthen community engagement. We believe this collaboration will spark even more creative and inclusive initiatives that promote education, environmental awareness, and joy—not just here in Wolverhampton, but around the world. Wildside’s accessible and vibrant activities make a real difference, and we’re thrilled to support their mission.”
Also on hand to welcome Heinz to his new surroundings were Local Councillor Claire Darke and Chris Munton-Evans, Centre Manager who added: "We are delighted to welcome Heinz to Wildside and hope he will bring excitement and enjoyment to all our human woodland visitors in future."
On a busy day at Wildside the Conservation Volunteer team were out tidying up the canal with a fundraising litter pick from canoes. It isn't too late to sponsor them for all their hard work and any donations made via the Big Give Green Match Fund website before midday on Tuesday, 29 April will be doubled by our sponsors.
There is still also time to join us to unwind by painting a landscape from 10am on Tuesday, 29 April. Find more online or contact the centre for information.
