Cannock opticians eye up latest award
Two Cannock opticians are celebrating after taking home a top prize at the Specsavers Awards for Excellence.
Specsavers in Cannock Shopping Centre and its sister store inside Sainsbury’s on Voyager Drive have been recognised with the Excellence in People Development award at this year’s prestigious Specsavers Awards for Excellence, which recognise the very best across all UK Specsavers stores.
"We’re absolutely delighted to have won in the People Development category," says Specsavers Cannock store director, Claire Blandford. "It’s a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and team spirit we have in both stores. All our team members live locally, and we take pride in helping them grow their skills and careers right here in Cannock. I also want to give a special thanks to our in-store trainers, Beth Benton at the Town Centre store and Donna Brown at Sainsbury’s, whose incredible support and commitment play a huge part in our teams’ progression."
The awards ceremony took place at the ICC in Birmingham, bringing together Specsavers teams from across the country to celebrate outstanding achievements in eyecare and business excellence.
"At both our stores, we believe that investing in our team leads to better service for our customers," continues Claire. "Whether it's through ongoing training, professional development opportunities, or a supportive workplace culture, we do all we can to help our team thrive."
The win highlights the store’s commitment not only to first-class eyecare, but also to creating meaningful career pathways for local people within the community.
Claire adds: "Being recognised on a national level for our people development really means a lot. We’re incredibly proud of the entire team and all that we’ve achieved together."
