Crystal Academy finalists in prestigious UK Small Business Awards 2025
Crystal Academy, an award-winning dance and performing arts centre based in Hednesford, has been announced as a finalist in the 2025 UK Small Business Awards. Recognised in the category of Best Creative Arts Business, the academy has earned national acclaim for its outstanding commitment to artistic excellence, youth development, and its consistent success at regional, national and international level.

Founded and led by Principal Kirsty Kolmer, Crystal Academy has established itself as a cornerstone of the local arts community, providing opportunities in dance, acrobatics, aerial hoop and theatre for young people of all ages and abilities. The finalist recognition comes on the back of an exceptional 12-month competitive season, which saw the academy secure multiple accolades including two UK National Titles, two Bronze World Placements at the GDO World Finals, and the prestigious Overall Winning Nation Award.
In addition to its competitive success, the academy was selected for its creative innovation and impact. All choreography is designed exclusively in-house by Artistic Director Kirsty Kolmer, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire generations of young performers. The academy has also performed at landmark venues such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Disneyland Paris, with dancers taking to the stage in front of thousands.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), Crystal Academy combines elite training with a deep-rooted social mission - offering accessible, inclusive provision and recognised exam qualifications to support the personal and professional development of its students.
