Now that keys have been exchanged and all but a few boxes have been unpacked, we can take a moment to reflect upon the month and the extraordinary efforts of everyone involved in making it happen.
In total, the team completed an incredible 135 residential property transactions in just one month, a record for Waldrons and a reflection of the commitment and resilience shown by the conveyancing and support teams.

This achievement came as buyers and sellers across the UK raced to complete their transactions before changes to Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) came into effect on 1 April 2025. National figures showed that February recorded the highest level of completions since September 2022 and some of the UK’s largest firms reported thousands of transactions in the final days of March alone.
Back closer to home, the conveyancing team at Waldrons rose to the challenge, guiding clients through the often complex legal process with professionalism, efficiency and personal service.
Reflecting on the team’s efforts, Belinda Hill, Head of Conveyancing at Waldrons, commented: “The conveyancing and accounts teams worked exceptionally hard in March to help so many of our clients complete their transactions ahead of the SDLT changes. The pressure was on across the industry but the way our teams came together, working late nights, early mornings and weekends, was nothing short of outstanding.
"As a small gesture to say thank you for their incredible efforts, our accounts and administration teams received a hamper at the end of the month. It’s a reflection of the teamwork, dedication and care that goes into every transaction we handle here at Waldrons.”
The wider property market has shown remarkable resilience despite the SDLT changes. Recent reports show UK house prices remained stable through March and buyer demand, although volatile in the run up to the deadline, is expected to recover through the spring and summer months.
Waldrons’ record month is a reflection not only of market conditions but of a trusted conveyancing service built on local expertise and personal client care. While the headlines may focus on deadlines and market surges, for Waldrons every completion represents a personal milestone, from first time buyers collecting their keys to families moving into their forever homes.
Belinda added: “We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved but above all we’re delighted to be part of our clients’ experience. Moving house is one of life’s big and memorable moments and we enjoy helping make that happen.”
