Lord Chris Fox, Liberal Democratic business spokesperson in the House of Lords, is the latest guest speaker to visit the Richardson offices in Oldbury.

The Richardson family regularly host events for the region’s business leaders, featuring national and regional politicians from across the political spectrum to their West Midlands HQ.
Lord Fox, who also sits on the International Agreements Committee and is an executive member of the British-American Parliamentary Group, studied at Imperial College London. He began his professional career with engineering roles in the petroleum and nuclear industries and worked at Tate & Lyle before joining Smiths Group and later GKN as group director for communications. Between 2009-11 he was CEO of the Lib Dems and is also currently Vice-President of the German-British Chamber of Commerce.
More than 25 invited guests heard Lord Fox talk about international and domestic issues, with a particular focus on the implications of recent US tariffs. He took questions on a range of subjects including how government should reduce business friction so they can support the country’s growth agenda.
The meeting was chaired by Martyn Richardson.
The Richardson family continues to seek management teams with strategic vision and plenty of drive, whether based in the UK or further afield, by bringing capital to underpin growth or sharing their know-how and network of contacts.
