Joel Foster, aged 21 from Burton upon Trent, performed a mixture of classic rock, alternative rock and indie songs and shared his personal experience of mental health and bullying to encourage students to make healthy life and relationship choices and give them confidence to seek help and support when required.

Joel said: "I had a tough time at senior school and, looking back, would have done things very differently, so I use music to engage young people and encourage them to be proud of who they are, follow their own rules, not be swayed by the constant pressures of social media and strive to achieve their dreams."

Marcia Monfries-Hudson, advice and guidance team leader at the college, said: "Positive mental health is key to enabling students to work hard and achieve their qualifications and we were delighted to welcome Joel to the college to explore this important topic through music and song."
