The programme is aimed at children and young people aged 5 to 16 years eligible for free school meals to offer healthy food and enriching activities over the 2-week Easter holiday period. Eligible families can book a space for their child or children on the popular programme.

Free, local and fun activities will run from Monday, 14 April, until Friday, 25 April.

The last day to book is Friday, 11 April.

Parents and carers can book slots on the council’s website: walsall.gov.uk/children-and-young-people/holiday-activities-programme-haf

Councillor Stacie Elson, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services at Walsall Council, said: “With over 6,000 individual daily HAF places, we’re busy working with 60 providers to deliver a fortnight of fun for children and young people aged 5-16.

“As many people will know, one of the best things about the HAF is whilst children are attending their activities, they receive a free healthy and nutritious meal too, which helps take the pressure off parents and carers during the school holidays. So get ready for the Easter holidays and book your HAF activities!”

Walsall Right for Children (WR4C) facilitates the HAF programme and can be contacted by email at WR4C@walsall.gov.uk. Follow the team on Twitter for updates.

Further information about the programme is available on the council’s website: HAF website. This includes information on how to register your child/children and how to become a HAF provider or volunteer.
