With 45 competition team members taking part, the Academy enjoyed one of its most triumphant outings to date—marked by multiple category wins, the highest overall score of the day, and the most successful performance ever by its Novice Team.
This prestigious event, proudly sponsored by Can You Dance? (CYD?)—the UK’s leading touring dance convention—saw Crystal Academy dancers not only rise to the occasion but truly set the bar.
The team’s Open Dancers stunned judges and audiences alike by competing in a higher age bracket and defeating college-level competitors, securing the highest scoring routine of the entire day. Meanwhile, the Novice Team delivered an exceptional performance that earned them their best results to date, highlighting the Academy’s strength across all levels.
The competition celebrated choreographic excellence, and Crystal Academy stood out with strikingly original routines, technically refined movement, and emotive storytelling on stage. Judges acknowledged this with several special awards, recognising not only skill but the artistry and thought behind the choreography.
