Community Action Day is a massive success

Yesterday (6 April), The Kingswinford in Bloom team and the Kingswinford & Wall Heath Litter Pick Group hosted Community Action Day.

It was an incredible morning as dozens of community champions joined and 40 bags of rubbish was collected from the Manor Park car park. As well as collecting litter weeds and green waste were cleared making the area look blooming amazing. 

Shaz Saleem, Founder of the Saleem Foundation said: "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. It was inspiring see two amazing groups collaborating to support our beautiful village. Huge thank you to Jo and Gail, our group leaders for organising this event, their efforts are greatly appreciated!"

Gail Bradley from Kingswinford and Wall Heath Litter Pick Group said, "It was an incredible morning, thank you to all our volunteers and a special thank you to Indi from One Stop Kingswinford for donating drinks to all our volunteers."

Jo Fletcher from Kingswinford in Bloom said, "Huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers and our special guests including Shaz Saleem, PC Lee Gilbert from the Kingswinford Neighbourhood police team, Brian Bassingthwaighte and Ruth Orgill from Advanced Accountancy."

The Bloomers meet every Saturday and Sunday 10am by the library and next litter pick is on 27th April, 10am meeting by shops on Bromley Lane.
