Local theatre company celebrate 80th anniversary of VE Day
Aldridge Musical Comedy Society have created a moving concert to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day to be performed at The Rugeley Rose Theatre, 1-3 May. The company did a similar concert 10 years ago to recognise the 70th anniversary and alongside the performances raised money for the local Royal British Legion, which they are doing again this time.

The show has been put together by its director and life member of the company, Julie Lamb, who also directed the 70th anniversary concert.
Act 1 shows the moving story from the start of the war and men going off to fight, leaving the women and children at home. Act 2 celebrates the end of the war with a street party atmosphere and culminates with a rousing proms section.
The show is full of high energy dance routines, comedy sketches, beautiful harmonies and rousing full company numbers providing an emotive theatre experience.

AMCS are in their fifth decade of performing and have both been nominated and won many NODA awards for their performances. If you want to catch this performance it is running at the Rugeley Rose Theatre between the 1-3 May, performances at 7.30pm with a matinee on the 3rd at 2.30pm also.
