Emma is an author and was the first Poet Laureate of Wolverhampton. Steve is also an author and has worked on a number of projects including a write up on wrestling in Darlaston. He has also done a similar project about punks.

Emma read her poem in Black Country dialect and found that people have a low opinion of the Black Country. Steve lives in the Black Country but went to university in Leeds. They love the gritty beauty of the Black Country, and both told us some amazing poems about life there. Not everyone is sure where the Black Country actually is, and they were asked once if it was near Leeds!

They also do promenade performances taking people around the Black Country pointing out places of interest. There are stops where poetry is performed. They like to reflect on what went on in the Black Country which they know is no better or worse than any other area.
