To start off the visit, Ben shared extracts from his stories in a whole-school assembly, emphasising how his own experiences and memories are at the core of the writing process and how he can use these to bring comedic effect to his work.
Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions before participating in interactive workshops in which they developed their own characters and stories with personal advice and guidance from Ben.
Headteacher Michelle Easthope said: "We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Ben Davis to Woodseaves CE Primary Academy.
“His visit presented a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with a local author and gain a deeper understanding of the creative writing process.
“At Woodseaves, we are committed to fostering a love of reading and writing, and Ben’s engaging approach has undoubtedly inspired our young learners to explore their own storytelling potential as well as enhanced their love of reading."
Ben's visit is part of the academy’s ongoing efforts to provide the children with a highly varied and inspirational curriculum of learning. To celebrate World Book Day, a West End actor taught each class a section of Alice in Wonderland, culminating in an all-school performance of the story at the end of the day.
Woodseaves CE Primary Academy, part of the St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust, provides education to the children of Woodseaves, as well as surrounding villages and towns, including Stafford, Doxey, Gnosall, Eccleshall, Tibberton and Newport due to being on a main commuter route.
It was rated as Good by Ofsted in its most recent inspection, with the areas of Behaviour and Attitudes, and Early Years being rated as Outstanding.

The school currently has spaces available for children of all primary ages, including 3 and 4-year-olds in its nursery provision.
