Free live rock and metal night at Kidderminster this weekend

The event, organised by Kidderminster-based band Retsecrows, brings together three rising acts from the Midlands rock and metal scene. The line-up includes Orquila, Kensei, and Retsecrows, offering a mix of heavy riffs, soaring melodies, and high-energy live performances. Doors open at 7pm.

Retsecrows, who have been making a name for themselves on the local circuit, are preparing for a major milestone in their career with an upcoming performance at Call of the Wild Festival 2025. Known for their energetic stage presence, they have performed across the West Midlands and Worcestershire, developing a strong following.

Joining them is Kensei, a Black Country band whose reputation has grown following their Bloodstock 2024 appearance. Blending melodic death metal with powerful choruses, Kensei have gained recognition for their intense and engaging live performances.

The line-up is completed by Orquila, an alternative rock band from Walsall. Originally formed as a studio project, the band has developed a distinctive sound, combining layered guitars, vocal harmonies, and dramatic songwriting. They recently reached the semi-finals of Metal to the Masses, a competition known for highlighting emerging heavy music talent.

“This is a great opportunity to bring together three exciting bands and showcase the strength of the local rock and metal scene,” a spokesperson for Retsecrows said. “It’s also a completely free event, making it a perfect chance for people to come and experience live music.”
