New journals to promote mental wellbeing empowering individuals and children with practical tools for a healthier mindset
Mental health charity Tough Enough To Care is proud to introduce two powerful new resources designed to support mental well-being and resilience: The Mindset Principle – A Guide to Personal Empowerment and All About Me. These thoughtfully designed journals offer individuals of all ages practical tools to develop positive mental habits and take charge of their mental health.
A vital step towards mental well-being founder Stu Bratt emphasised the urgency of mental health support, stating: “In the UK, one in four people experiences a mental health problem each year. Every 90 minutes, someone dies by suicide, and for every life lost, there are 80 to 100 attempts—each a desperate cry for help that often goes unheard. We are committed to changing these statistics.
"Journaling has been a valuable practice for centuries, from ancient cave paintings to modern diary entries. Expressing emotions on paper can be a transformative tool, offering a safe space for reflection and emotional regulation. Writing thoughts and feelings down can help individuals better understand, harness, and maintain a sustainable mindset.
"Following successful trials in local schools, The Mindset Principle and All About Me have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents and educators alike.”

About Tough Enough To Care
Tough Enough To Care is a mental health charity dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and providing resources, peer support, and education for individuals in need. Through various initiatives, the charity aims to empower people with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.
Our founder, Stu Bratt, knows all too well the toll that silence can take. Having spent his life in male-dominated environments - ex-military, as a field service engineer, and a passionate rugby player—he was immersed in the "Man Up" culture where feelings were buried deep. Stu lost two friends to suicide within days of each other. They didn't know each other, and their deaths were unrelated, but they shared a common struggle: they felt unable to talk or seek help. Stu knew something had to change and, consequentially, Tough Enough To Care was born.
Since our inception, we have supported over 12,000 people in the UK, establishing 10 peer-to-peer support groups for adult men and women in the East and West Midlands. In addition to our support groups, we have partnered with SHOUT to fund a dedicated text helpline that connects our service users directly to trained counsellors and mental health professionals. We also deliver Mental Health First Aid training to ensure that more people feel confident in assisting someone in crisis before it’s too late.
