The production can be seen in the school theatre from Tuesday February 11 to Thursday February 13, featuring a 40-strong cast and behind-the-scenes support.

The story centres around two high school students, who are poles apart, but secretly decide to audition for their school’s musical. Their talent challenges the elite and turns their world upside down.

The roles of basketball captain Troy Bolton and brain box Gabriella Montez are played by Year 12 Jacob Dixon and Year 11 Nancy Minaker, supported by a strong cast picked from across the year groups.

Students are also involved with lighting, sound and backstage and teachers Richard Ravenhall, Amie Kidd, Anita Lewis and Freya Greaves make up the production team.

Director of creative arts Mr Ravenhall said: “We are excited to be putting on such a popular musical, which showcases the talent and enthusiasm of our young performers.  We are incredibly proud of their energy and dedication to create a memorable production, which I’m sure our audiences will love.”

Tickets, priced £4 are available via ticketsource.co.uk and the show starts nightly at 7pm (Doors open 6.30pm).
