St Giles Hospice opens new charity shop in Brownhills
This week, St Giles Hospice officially opened the doors to its newest charity shop in Brownhills.
The shop, located at 38 High Street, offers the local community the opportunity to help fund vital hospice care services by purchasing pre-loved items at affordable prices and donating their pre-loved goods.
Anthony Harris, Mayor of Walsall, kindly attended the new St Giles Hospice charity shop to cut the ribbon, and invited local residents, supporters, and volunteers into the shop for a first look.
The Mayor commended St Giles for the work that it does in providing hospice care to local people, and their loved ones, highlighting how the hospice’s care and support is nothing short of extraordinary.
The charity shop features a selection of quality, second-hand clothing, accessories, homewares, books, and more – and will help raise more funds for the patients and families St Giles supports, amid ongoing financial challenges within the hospice sector.
Robert Evans, Head of Retail at St Giles Hospice, said: "We're thrilled to open our new shop in Brownhills and connect with our wonderful community here. Every purchase made in our charity shops helps us continue to provide care to those who need it most.
“Our wonderful chain of charity shops play a crucial role in funding care services, and the new Brownhills location will help extend this impact. Last year, St Giles shops raised over £500,000, which is truly incredible and a testament to everyone who has generously donated items, shopped in store, and kindly volunteered their time.
"There will be many volunteer opportunities at the new shop in Brownhills, offering a chance for community members to make a meaningful difference to their local hospice. St Giles also welcomes donations of quality items to stock the shop, helping to support the vital care services it provides.
"Donations can be dropped off during shop opening hours or at any of the hospice donation stations."
St Giles has 23 shops in total, including Brownhills. You can find your nearest shop, or find out more information about donating or volunteering by visiting: stgileshospice.com/shops.
