Charity football match will bring together a wealth of local talent
AFC Wulfrunians are to host a charity football match in support of Acorns Children's Hospice and Facial Palsy UK, and organisers are currently seeking local businesses to sponsor the day.
Taking place at AFC Wulfrunians' Prestige Midlands Arena on Sunday, 11 May, some of Wolverhampton's finest are coming together to raise money for the Castlecroft club's chosen charities.
Some of the players lacing up their boots to raise money are Andy Pearce (ITV's My Mum Your Dad), Arun Kapur (Co-Founder of the Wolverhampton Film Festival), Dan McNamara (Wolves Women Manager), Jack Kirwan (aka Gary Powndland) and Reepa (Grime Artist).
Swapping the ring for a pitch are professional boxers Brandon Bethell, Conah Walker, Kirstie Bavington (EBU European Champion), Lewis Morris, Mia Holland and Tyler Denny.
And also taking part are Ajay Sharma, Barber Charl, Dazzling Dave, Inside The Baller, Jack Cattell, Jed Edwards, Jason Guy, Kyle Perry, Liam Berry, Matt Clayton, Reece Hayden, Robbie Meakin, Shaun Spicer, Stuart Oakes, Todd Perry, Tom Gibson, Tyler Price and Wayne Spicer.
Organisers are looking for local business to sponsor the event to help make a difference to lives. For information, email robbie.afcw@gmail.com or contact AFC Wulfrunians via their social media channels.
As well as the entertainment on the pitch, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and appearances from Micky and Minnie Mouse.
Following the match - which kicks off at 1pm - there will be a DJ from 3pm to 6pm and some great raffle prizes to be won.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children and £1 for infants and are available via skiddle.com/whats-on/Wolverhampton/Prestige-Midlands-Arena/AFC-Wulfrunians-Charity-Football-Match/40412305/
