New Lichfield apartments getting ready to open doors for viewing
Apartments in Lichfield fit for modern living will be available to view from next weekend.
Elan Homes has built and sold eight new homes at The Sidings on land off Rotten Row and is putting the finishing touches to apartments which have been created in Lorne House. The building was originally a pair of semi-detached homes but was more recently used as a gym before being acquired by Elan.
Five apartments, including one with furniture to help buyers visualise how they might use the space, will be open for viewing from January 11.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “The redevelopment of Lorne House to provide apartments is an unusual project and there’s a real sense of curiosity among potential purchasers. We’ve tried to honour the history and integrity of the building as much as practical. There are two apartments on each of the three floors, with some quirky designs because it’s an older building. One of the most striking features is the vaulted ceilings with exposed steel in the penthouses. The two ground floor apartments have their own separate entrances and courtyard gardens, while those on the upper floors will be accessed via a central lobby and staircase or lift.
“Most of the enquiries we’ve received about the apartments have been from people looking to downsize to somewhere more manageable after their children have moved onto homes of their own and want to live close to the centre of Lichfield. Feedback is they’re eager to see the apartments for themselves to help them appreciate the different layouts before committing to buy. It wasn’t practical to have people viewing while work was ongoing, but we’ve now reached a stage where it’s safe for buyers to come and view.”
The apartments are priced from £385,000 to £430,000.
They all benefit from an upgraded specification covering everything from the kitchens to the tiles in the bathroom and en-suite. Plot 2 is a ground floor apartment with courtyard garden and includes an outside tap and socket. Plot 3, on the first floor, has flooring fitted throughout and wardrobes in the main bedroom.
Each of the apartments at Lorne House has a combined kitchen, dining and living room to maximise the potential of the space.
“With the principal bedroom benefitting from an en-suite, the main bathroom is effectively a guest bathroom,” Tracey added. “The second bedroom is ideal for when family and friends stay over but could equally be used as a study or home gym or even a dual-purpose space.”
The apartments benefit from a best of both worlds setting, as part of an intimate development in a quiet location, just a short walk from Lichfield city centre.
Birmingham can be reached in around 45 minutes including walking to nearby Lichfield City station.
