From intergenerational activities to creative competitions and heartwarming community connections, each home embraced the season in unique ways.

At Willow Rose care home, Willenhall, residents enjoyed a packed festive schedule, including a professional festive breakfast, an Elf Day on December 4 where staff donned cheerful elf outfits, and a festive photo session to create personalised Christmas cards. The lively atmosphere and beautifully decorated spaces brought smiles and laughter to all.

In Wolverhampton, at Wulfrun Rose care home, the magic of Christmas was shared with the younger generation as the home hosted a Santa Breakfast for children from Berrybrook School. Residents, children, and Santa himself sang festive songs and shared precious moments.

Another home in Solihull, Blossomfield Rose care home, was also delighted to welcome local primary, Alderbrook School, for a fabulous variety performance featuring Christmas carols, Irish dancing, disco dancing, contemporary dancing, and even a magic act.

The residents also took part in the Macc Care Christmas Cake Competition, enjoying the baking, decorating, and of course, tasting. Christmas Jumper Day brought family members, residents, and staff together, all donning their most festive outfits to spread holiday cheer.

Residents from Meadow Rose in Longbridge kicked off the festive season with a delightful trip to Birmingham’s German Market. Sampling sweet treats and soaking up the seasonal atmosphere, the outing was a memorable highlight for everyone.

And at Austin Rose care home in Birmingham, residents embraced the holiday spirit by decorating gingerbread and baking cakes as part of the Macc Care Christmas Cake Competition. The home also hosted a vibrant Christmas Fair that welcomed residents, families, and the wider community. The event was filled with festive laughter, delicious treats, and joyful connections and raised £230 for resident activities in the new year.

Speaking about the festivities, Bhav Amlani from Macc Care said: “Celebrations like these are so important for our residents, not only to bring festive joy but to create moments of connection, laughter, and community. It’s been wonderful to see how integrated our homes are with their local communities and how much the local community has contributed to bringing that festive cheer to our residents. Thank you to everyone involved.”
