Ben Hatfield is the founder of Tangents For Talent based in Lichfield city centre, and his talent lies in creating innovative visual media, which has rewarded him with an enviable list of clients across the Midlands and further afield.

However, as a sole trader, the 27-year-old knows all too well the challenges that come with self-employment. While flexibility and independence are rewarding positives, the reality of juggling multiple roles, working long unset hours, and often operating alone can take its toll.

It’s with that in mind Ben, who is also the vice president of Lichfield’s Chamber of Trade and Commerce, has compiled a free video of top tips to help self-employed entrepreneurs to avoid or overcome burnout.

Ben said: “As creative entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day running of our companies - sometimes the business runs us, instead of us running the business.

“It’s essential to break that cycle and make time for yourself and this video is designed to help others recognise the early signs of burnout and take steps to prevent it before it becomes overwhelming.

“Taking a preventative, proactive approach, including recognising triggers and managing them effectively, or deploying strategies to cope when they rear their heads, all help to eliminate the chance of burnout.”

In the video, entitled 5 Game-Changing Tips to Overcome Creative Burnout, Ben shares actionable insights for the self-employed, particularly those within creative industries, to maintain balance, stay motivated, and ultimately thrive in their ventures. You can watch the free video on YouTube.
