Paul Berry provides the latest news from the Wolves Foundation: You've flown the flag - now wear the T-shirt!
Home games at Molineux have been brightened up in the last couple of years with a colourful and nostalgia-driven flag and banner displays orchestrated by a group of volunteers known as the Old Gold Pack.
Now Wolves Foundation have linked up with the OGP to create a limited-edition series of fresh and vibrant t-shirts which will capture the imagination of fans whilst also supporting the club’s official charity.
‘This is our Church’ is the title for the first t-shirts off the production line under a ‘Yam Yam’ brand which aim to combine popular fan culture with fans’ love of all things Wolves.
With thanks to support from Wolves’ retail partners Levy UK, all proceeds from the sales of the t-shirts will go directly to the Foundation, who, in turn, will make a donation per sale towards OGP’s continuing production of new flags and fresh material to be viewed and enjoyed on a Molineux matchday.
There will be a series of four graphic-based tee-shirts released between now and next summer, and any fans who purchase all four will receive a special gift.
“It’s been a pleasure working with the team at OGP,” said Kieron Ansell, Business Development Manager with Wolves Foundation.
“It’s clear to see at home games but their creative vision has given us some amazing designs to work with.
“They are keen to give fans a vehicle on which to support the work of the Foundation, but at the same time own a unique and cool piece of Wolves pop culture apparel.
“This project very much feels like something of the fans, for the fans, and I’m sure people are going to love the tees.”
The first shirt, modelled in the picture by Nelson Semedo, is available in white and black and is retailing for £25.
“We are so grateful to the Wolves Foundation and Kieron for inviting us to contribute to the incredible work they do in the community,” said a spokesperson for Old Gold Pack.
“A special thank you goes to the amazing Wolves fanbase, whose creativity knows no bounds.
“In particular, we’d like to thank Nathan Coyle for the ‘This is our Church’ design which will feature on our first t-shirt, and to Tom Hicks from Black Country Type for his photography.
“Together, this collaboration highlights the talent of our local community, showcasing what it means to be WULFRUNIAN.
“We can’t wait to show the other three designs that are coming soon.”
