Appointments announced at new supported living service in Bloxwich

ECHO Supported Living Services, part of the ECHO Group, has appointed Steven Maley as Manager of its soon-to-be-opened Golden Eagle Court supported living service in Bloxwich, near Walsall.

The development, located on the site of the former Golden Eagle pub, has been transformed into nine spacious apartments by Midlands-based SEP Properties Ltd. The facility includes parking and outdoor communal spaces, offering a welcoming environment for its future residents.

The apartments will house individuals with learning disabilities and associated needs, enabling them to live independently in their own homes with tailored support from ECHO Supported Living Services. As a leading community support provider, ECHO will assist residents with daily living activities, such as accessing the community, shopping, and cooking.

The housing will be managed by Inclusion Housing, a prominent health and social care landlord. Together with ECHO Supported Living Services, they aim to empower people to live as independently as possible while remaining close to their families and developing essential life skills.

Steven Maley, the newly appointed manager, brings 15 years of experience in health and social care. Holding a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Steven has a proven track record of managing CQC-rated ‘GOOD’ services and is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support. His professional ethos focuses on fostering independence and promoting the wellbeing of both people supported and staff.

Speaking about his new role, Steven said:  "I’m thrilled to join ECHO Group at this exciting time. Golden Eagle Court represents a fantastic opportunity to provide individuals with the support and independence they deserve, helping them to live fulfilling lives in their own homes. I’m committed to ensuring the highest standards of care and creating a positive, empowering environment for everyone we support."

In his spare time, Steven enjoys exploring new places, indulging in his passion for music, films, and geek culture, and spending quality time with his family and pets.

Additionally, Annu Joshi has been appointed as Supported Living Administrator. Annu is an experienced social care administrator with expertise in recruitment, finance, and HR. Holding a GNVQ Advanced in Business and Finance, she is eager to contribute to the growth and success of the ECHO Group.
