Children at Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary Academy regularly tend the plants in their garden of peace and reflection, created in memory of much-loved teacher Adele Howells, who died from cancer, aged 44, in November 2022.

Mokshuda Begum, head of school, said: “We’ve had our very special garden for a year now and our children love looking after it. They are discovering some of the wonders of the natural world and learning how to care for our environment.

“These were priorities for Adele, as they are for all of us at Far Forest and we are delighted that the children’s hard work has been recognised by the RHS.”
