Suspect arrested in fatal shooting at US cosmetics warehouse – officials
One person was killed and five others were injured after the incident in New Albany.
A suspect in a fatal shooting that left one dead and five others wounded at a cosmetics warehouse in the US has been arrested, officials said in a news release.
New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones says all of the victims worked at the facility in New Albany, Ohio.
Five of them were taken to hospitals for treatment, Mr Jones said, while the sixth victim died in the building.
There were no reports of any kind of confrontation or dispute that would have prompted Tuesday night’s shooting, Mr Jones had earlier told reporters.
A handgun was recovered at the scene, he said.
The shooting happened at the warehouse for a company that makes products including cosmetics and toiletries.
Mr Jones had said on Wednesday morning that investigators did not have a motive for the shooting.
About 150 people were evacuated to a neighbouring building, Mr Jones said.
New Albany mayor Sloan Spalding said the community had been left “heartbroken” by the attack.
