Chris Eubank Jr fined £375,000 after missing the weight for Conor Benn fight
Eubank Jr had two attempts at weighing in at 160lb, missing his first try by 0.2lb before falling short again.

Chris Eubank Jr has missed the weight for Saturday’s showdown with Conor Benn by 0.05lb and will be fined £375,000.
Eubank Jr had two attempts at making the middleweight limit of 160lb, missing his first try by 0.2lb before falling short again.
He will be fined accordingly after agreeing to a clause in his fight contract with Matchroom’s Benn.
A rehydration clause also states that Eubank Jr will be unable to weigh more than 10lb heavier on Saturday morning and failure to abide by this will result in another fine.
The news comes after he was handed a £100,000 penalty in February for slapping Benn with an egg in their Manchester press conference. Benn had blamed his two failed drugs tests, which resulted in their 2022 bout being cancelled, on the over consumption of eggs.
Benn, 28, who has fought most of his career at welterweight, came in well under the limit at 156.4lb ahead of Friday evening’s ceremonial weigh-ins, with the fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium still due to go ahead.
Speaking after those weigh-ins, Eubank Jr said: “If they’re going to take half a million (US dollars) off me for being 0.05lb off the limit, then that’s the sort of people Eddie Hearn, Matchroom and Conor Benn are.

“At the end of the day, weight has no relevance to what will happen tomorrow night. I’m going to go out there and stop this guy.
“The rehydration clause is still in place, so I need to watch what I eat and drink, but all of these things are set up to distract me and get me off track and none of it will work.”
Benn said: “It’s an expensive price for him to pay, isn’t it?
“He’s disciplined and he should’ve made the weight. He’s made this weight his whole career. He was expecting some sympathy, but he isn’t getting any sympathy from around here.”
Eubank Jr earlier posted a video of him cutting weight in his hotel, with the caption “pain is temporary… glory is forever”.
Benn, responding to the video, wrote: “Christopher who are you trying to fool and get sympathy from? I’m coming up to your weight, a weight you’ve made your last three fights and most of your career.
“It’s like you’re looking for excuses already? First time you’ve ever missed weight and first time you’ve ever posted a weight cut.”
The pair’s grudge match comes more than 30 years after their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn, began their own storied rivalry.
