Fox cub stuck in gap after waiting for mother to bring food rescued by RSPCA
The cub was wedged between a fence and a garden wall in London.

A fox cub found stuck in a gap after it waited for its mother to bring it food has been rescued by the RSPCA.
The animal was found crying after it was wedged between a fence and a garden wall in Hafer Road in Clapham Junction, south-west London.
A member of the public spotted the cub curled up in a tight spot and its mother was seen dropping food into the gap.

Eve Mannings, an animal rescue officer at the RSPCA, used a grasper to safely free the cub from the small gap.
“It was really important we got the cub out as soon as possible. The cub was crying and his mum was nearby,” Ms Mannings said.
“I was able to get the fox out using a grasper, thankfully he didn’t struggle too much.
“Once he was out I gave him a quick check over and he looked healthy despite his ordeal – he was a good weight which may have been why he was so tightly stuck in the first place.”
She held the cub which was wrapped in a towel after it was safely removed from the narrow gap.
The cub was able to return home quickly and reunite with its mother after its den was discovered to be on the other side of the garden wall.
Ms Mannings has thanked the member of the public who found the small animal.
“It’s always lovely to complete a rescue with a happy ending,” she said.
“We’re so grateful to the person who found the cub as they could have been stuck there for a long time.
“It’s a great example of how people can help wildlife.
“Happily he’s now back where he belongs with his family and with no harm done.”
The RSPCA has urged members of the public to contact the charity if they find foxes that are injured, sick, ill, in immediate danger or found with their eyes closed.
