The winless hosts were swept aside as Stour ran in a dozen tries on their way to a 76-15 victory.

Jack Lea led the charge for the visitors by touching down three times while the division’s leading try scorer, Dan Rundle, added two more to his tally.

Given their availability problems, director of rugby Neil Mitchell and his coaching team of Alex Davidson and Rhys Pritchard will be delighted by Stour’s display.

After seeing their hosts miss an early penalty, Stour got the scoreboard rolling on 15 minutes when Joe Heatley struck with an unconverted try.

A yellow card reduced Scunthorpe to 14 and Stour took advantage as Lea claimed his first score of the day. Chris Scott added the extras and was then successful with two more kicks following well-worked tries from Rundle and Mark Harrison.

Llyr Griffiths and another Scott two-pointer made it 33-0 before the hosts replied with a try.

The second half followed a similar pattern as Stour continued to dominate.

Josh Trinham marked his return from a spell in Canada by touching down, with Lea (two), Stef Thorpe, Rundle, Arthur Morgan and Scott adding to the try count.
