Lee Thomson and Kevin Saunders will go head-to-head for glory in the final of the Staff and West Midlands League’s Secretaries Cup.

Thomson booked his place at the expense of Stuart Lovack, despite conceding a 14-point start in each frame. Thomson took all three frames to secure a 204-171 success.

Saunders also had to give away a 14-point start in his clash with Andy Sheffield.

He made light work of that it the opener as he won by 37 points. Sheffield hit back in the second frame, but Saunders responded to win the next on his way to an overall 193-159 win.

Bal Sembi won the battle of the Hotshots team-mates to book his place in the final of the Individual Handicap.

Sembi was in fine form against Mark Sutton, reeling off breaks of 53, 79 and 44 on his way to a 3-0 success.

The match started with a competitive opener which went the way of Bal Sembi as he hit a break of 53 and he followed that up by taking the second frame of the match with an excellent break of 79 to put himself 2-0 ahead. The next frame was to go his way as well as he completed the 3-0 win by taking the frame with a break of 44 to earn himself a place in the final.

Sutton also saw his Individual Championship hopes ended.

He lost 4-3 in a high-quality clash with Adrian Rosa.

In a keenly-contested tie, neither player went more than one frame ahead. But it was Rosa who finally came out on top aided by breaks of 56, 40 and 30. Sutton pushed him all the way as he had runs of 67, 38 and 31.

Danny Ludgate was the hero for Wednesfield Cons A in their Consolation Handicap Cup semi-final clash with Division Two side Bilston BC A.

Bilston started with a 105-point advantage over their top flight opponents.

And they still led by 59 going into the last frame. But Ludgate hit a fine break of 54 and went on to take the last blue and pink to seal a 364-352 triumph.

Fellow Division One side Baggeridge Social Club await in the final after beating Division Three boys Bushbury Grid B.

Dave Hall, who hit breaks of 36 and 34, Jamie Spence, Justin Donoghue (41) and Eliott Bastable saw them win 411-328.
