Nordley targeting home comforts

The Premier Division’s match of the day sees the top two battle it out tomorrow with just two points separating the table-topping Lockmen from their visitors.
The hosts also boast a game in hand after sitting out the action last Saturday.
Penn will travel in confident mood following a resounding win last time out. They saw off Bylet 13-1 with both Paul Busby claiming a 21-0 success and Robert Fuller and Scott Harries winning 21-1 and 21-2 respectively.
Third-placed Dudley Dell are just a point behind Penn and they welcome Victoria Park to their Brierley Hill venue.
Martin Aston (21-8) led the way last weekend as Dell triumphed 10-6 at Short Heath Liberal.
M&B Cheslyn Hay hit the road for a trip to Cradley S&S.
The battle to avoid the drop looks like it could go to the wire with three clubs – Bylet, Short Heath and Glasscutters – separated by a mere nine points.
Bylet host Windmill tomorrow, while Short Heath head to Woddfield and Glasscutters entertain Stile.
n Aaron Tapper (M&B Cheslyn Hay) is the new BLV Individual Merit champion.
Trailing 17-5 in the final to Ian Jones (Woodfield) at Pennfields, Tapper rallied brilliantly to win 21-18.
The losing semi finalists were Ian Whitehouse (Nordley) and Jamie Hill (Springvale).
n The Jesse Gough Doubles finals take place on Sunday at Goodyear Pavilion Bowling Club on Sunday.
A total of 16 pairs will compete for a title that has been contested since 1961.
