Trubshaw made the most of his handicap to take the opener, but from then on it was one-way traffic as breaks of 111, 110 and 65 saw Rosa through to the next round.
Jack Harris joined him in the next round as he saw off the challenge of Andy Price in a 3-1 win in another strong showing which included breaks of 51, 45, 42, 41 and 30.
Lee Bannister also went through as he eventually overcame Mike Beadmore in a close-fought 3-2 win away from home, which was aided by two breaks of 31.
The final tie saw Scott Corser upset Wednesfield Cons player Paul Harrison as he made the most of his handicap advantage to secure an excellent win.
Corser took the opening two frames and, despite losing frame three, it was to be his night as he took frame four to seal a 3-1 win.
There was also action in the quarter-finals of the Pairs & Singles Handicap Cup where Willenhall Libs duo Lee Bannister and Lee Thomson were knocked out despite breaks of 90,46 & 33 from Lee Bannister.
The handicap advantage of Andy Evans and Dale Hughes proved just too much on the night, while the duos of Joshua Walker & Bob Davies, Andy Whitehall & Scott Robinson and Stewart Jones & Alex Humphries also advanced.
St Johns SC extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division after they won 4-1 away at Poets Corner B to open up a four-point lead, with frame wins from Jack Harris, Robbie James (47 break), Steve Barton and Mick Faulkner.
Second-placed Willenhall Liberal A lost ground despite their 3-2 win over Pelsall Social A in a high quality match.
