Cons and Cue are all set for a final week title tussle
Wednesfield CONS A took the Premier Division title race down to the wire following a resounding success against Landywood SC.
Cons go into the final week of the season level on points with defending champions Golden Cue C after Simon Groves, Richard Davies, Tony Davis, Lee Payne and Paul Harrison saw them to a 5-0 win over Landywood SC A.
Golden Cue just needing to match the Cons' result in the last round of matches to complete a successful title defence.
At the other end of the table, Aldridge Cons B condemned winless Stafford Road to relegation with a 4-1 victory. Ally Morrison, Mark Westwood, Simon Robey and John Mitchell sealed the win and another season in the top flight for Aldridge.
Bloxwich Memorial B were also relegated after going down 4-1 to Lea Hall.
Nathan Wood, Adrian Rosa, with a 53 break, Ryley Archer and Steve Smart (40) were on form for Lea Hall.
Division One leaders Athenaeum Club need two points to win the title after completing a fine 4-1 win at Bentley Moor B thanks to wins from Matty Sargeant, Steven Fletcher, Neil Harper and Tim Allmark.
Aldridge Cons C moved into second place outright after they defeated their closest rivals Wednesfield Cons B 4-1 at home to move four points clear of their opponents.
Mike Mobley, Colin Baker, Shaun Doughty and Tony Walker triumphed for Aldridge.
Division Two champions Willenhall Liberal still have a massive say in who will step up with them next season.
They beat promotion hopefuls Golden Cue B 4-1 and will face second-placed Amery in the final game of the season.
Amery moved above Cue into second after beating Birchills 4-1.
n The Masters final will see Adrian Rosa and Simon Groves go head to head for glory.
Rosa (Lea Hall) had breaks of 34, 37, 44 and 48 on his way to a 3-1 win against Lee Bannister (Rushall Labour).
Groves (Wednesfield Cons) beat Lee Thomson (Willenhall Libs) 3-0.
