There was no upset as Ashmore eased through 8-0, Bradley Shinton claiming four.

Another Silverdale team involved in an eight-goal affair were Spartans who beat St Joseph's Saints 7-1 in an all-First Division contest. Connor Garbett's six-goal haul settled the tie.

Extra-time was needed at Coseley School where Sedgley White Lions and St Joseph's Colts were locked at 1-1 before the visiting Colts got the vital goal.

The county cups got under way with two BPYFL teams in action and both emerging victorious. Bustleholme travelled to Barton Rovers and triumphed 7-0 thanks in part to an Oskar Porebski hat-trick.

And four-goal Ryan Singh helped Great Barr Harriers go through with a thrilling 6-4 home win over Olton Ravens.

Sole league action for the under-16s came in Division Two where Phoenix Warriors and Springvale Steelers drew 2-2.
