Away day fun: Wolves boast best local record on the road

Wolves have the 23rd best away record since the 2009/10 season according to new research into all 91 Premier League and Football League clubs’ away results over the past decade.

The research from BonusCodeBets.co.uk found that Wolves averaged 1.26 points from a total of 216 games played, giving them a 34 per cent win rate.

West Brom fair slightly worse with an average of 1.13 points in 202 games leaving them in 58th, while Walsall are in 66th with 1.11 points per game.

Aston Villa are the local club lowest on the list after averaging 1.06 points from 204 games played. Villa are also one of the lowest scoring teams in the country, netting just 206 times. Only Stoke with 156 and Swansea with 201 have worse records.

The two Manchester clubs are the best performers away from home with City being the only club to have won over half of their away games (54 per cent).

Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool make up the rest of the top five while non-Premier League clubs such as League Two Salford City, Championship side Luton Town and Joey Barton’s Fleetwood all feature in the top ten.

At the other end of the scale, Bolton Wanderers are the worst travellers of any side in the Premier League or Football League, collecting just 0.77 points per game.
