Jota took his tally to 10 goals and five assists in his past 21 appearances at Vicarage Road on Saturday, setting up the opening goal before volleying home the winner.

Mexican striker Jimenez now holds the record for the most goals scored by a Wolves player in a Premier League season, with his 13th of the campaign taking him past Steven Fletcher’s total of 12 in the 2011/12 season,

“They’re a pleasure to watch,” captain Coady said. “When you’re behind them and see what they’re doing it’s great to see.

“I thought the pass from Ruben Neves was absolutely outstanding by the way.

“The way he put it on a plate and how Jota finishes it coming out the sky. They’re both really fantastic players to have at this club, it’s a pleasure to have them here.

“Jimenez deserves his goal, he’s a fantastic player.”

There was no love lost between the sides in a game which contained plenty of needle.

“It was always going to be like that, it really was,” Coady said.

“We’ve played Watford a few times now this season, we know the qualities they bring and we respected them before kick-off.

“We tried to focus on ourselves as much as possible. To come away with the win was brilliant from the lads and I thought we deserved it.

“They’re the best sort of games. The rivalry that’s come up between the teams this season, we’ve played them three times now and I felt like we deserved a win against them.

“The way we played on Saturday, the way we dug in and threw ourselves in front of things was needed.

“When you’ve got the quality up front that can finish like that it’s a real asset to have.”

Ryan Bennett made a glaring error for Watford’s goal, but skipper Coady said it wasn’t an issue.

“Nothing’s been said, mistakes happen in football,” Coady said. “Benno’s an experienced player, we’d never say anything to him, he’s done fantastic things for this football club and at the end of the day we won the game so it doesn’t really matter. We move on, we look at where we need to improve.”
