Nuno Espirito Santo’s side endured a frustrating afternoon on Saturday, drawing 0-0 against a Brighton team that had virtually no intention to attack.

Wolves hit the woodwork twice and had 23 attempts at goal, but couldn’t find a way through.

It continued a consistent trend of underwhelming results against teams at the lower end of the Premier League table, with Wolves earning just three wins from 11 matches against the current bottom six.

Bennett said: “Teams are going to come and do that, we’ve found that a few times this season.

“Normally, at this level, when teams do that it is hard to break down. We did dominate the ball and, unfortunately, we couldn’t find a way.

“It’s something that we’ll go and work on and try and create different ideas to break teams down who come at us like that, we’ve found it a couple of times this season.

“We have found it difficult so we’ll keep working as hard as we can and we’ve got another big game on Wednesday.

“It was difficult out there. It was a hot day so it was nice to have the ball for that period of time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it pay.

“We knew they were going to come and be organised, we found that at their place when we played them at the start of the season.

“I suppose they’ll look at it as a good point but it’s a disappointing one for us really with the amount of possession we did have.”

Bennett was recalled to the XI in place of Romain Saiss after previously only starting one match since March 2.

He’ll hope to keep his place for Wednesday night’s visit of Arsenal – one of just four games remaining for Nuno’s team.

They sit 10th in the table, one point behind seventh-placed Everton.

Bennett was pleased the Wolves supporters stuck with the team during a frustrating afternoon at Molineux on Saturday.

He now wants to help give them a fantastic night on Wednesday when the Gunners come to town.

“I think we’ve given them a good season so I think they’re going to be on our side until the end of the season,” the centre-half added.

“We going to keep working as hard as we have all season and hopefully we can go out there and put a good performance on Wednesday and hopefully it will be another terrific night.

“We had a few good chances on Saturday, a few unlucky ones as well.

“There were a few decisions out there that maybe could have gone the other way.

“That happens in football, we’ve been on the other end of it as well, so you can’t complain too much.

“The luck was in for them and unfortunately not for us.”
