Wolves won three league titles and two FA Cups between 1949 and 1960 as well as beating some of the world's best teams in a series of famous floodlit friendlies.

Nuno is a keen student of Wolves' glorious history – and wants those days to return to Molineux.

Speaking to BBC Radio WM during today's pre-match Manchester United press conference, where Wolves will look to reach just their second FA Cup semi-final in 38 years, Nuno said Wolves' history was 'inspiring'.

"I'm aware of the history, of course, it's one of the things we want to make happen again, but we have to go step by step," he said.

"There's a long, long way for us to achieve those glorious moments of the 50s and 60s (but) it's much harder now.

"It's inspiring, of course."

Of tomorrow's huge game he added: "We can feel in the city what's going on, everybody is expecting a big game, some of them say it's one of the most important games in the last year. We feel that.

"At the same time we feel their support and joy. To compete against these big and fantastic teams can only make us proud."
