Wolves 'gutted' with Chelsea result

No Wolves player was happy with just a point from Stamford Bridge, Diogo Jota bemoaned – as they prepare for another huge game this weekend.

Wolves were two minutes away from doing the double over Chelsea this season before Eden Hazard struck a last-gasp equaliser for the Blues on Sunday.

Nuno Espirito Santo's team have enjoyed an impressive record against the 'big six', earning 10 points and beating Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Next up it's Manchester United in the quarter-finals at Molineux on Saturday.

Jota said: "A draw at Stamford Bridge is a good result but if you could see the dressing room, no one was happy.

"Everyone understood we could win the game.

"We tried to take the game until the end, unfortunately for us the ball ended up with a good player and he scored.

"We're going to prepare for the FA Cup game that we want to get through, I'm looking forward to it."

Jota set up Raul Jimenez's goal at Stamford Bridge. The pair have combined for Wolves' past three goals.

The Portuguese forward said it's taken time to forge their prolific partnership.

"We have a very good relationship," he said. "In the beginning it's harder, when a new player comes you have to adapt to him and he has to adapt to our game and our style.

"That takes sometimes a little longer than you expect.

"I think now things happen naturally. I think we can go and do it better and better.

"The team work during the week and always have a game plan – we stick to it no matter what, credit to everyone."

Captain Conor Coady echoed Jota's sentiments about being downbeat to only draw at Chelsea.

He said the players thought it was crazy that Wolves were now disappointed with such results.

"The players think it's mad as well, but when you're that close to winning it, it would have been huge for this football club," Coady said,

"It felt like two points lost. We contained them and frustrated them. To concede in the last minute was really disappointing.

"It's important you're organised otherwise Chelsea will carve you open.

"To give Hazard space like that, it's something we didn't want to do. We were a little bit gutted."
