Niall Ennis involved, Diogo Jota out and Ruben Neves OK – team news for Wolves v Shrewsbury
Niall Ennis could make his Wolves debut against Shrewsbury tomorrow after boss Nuno Espirito Santo revealed the young striker will be involved in the squad.
The 19-year-old front-man is set to benefit from Diogo Jota picking up a knock against Everton on Saturday, although Nuno said it wasn't a serious problem for the Portuguese forward.
To date, Ennis' only senior football has come for Shrewsbury, via a couple of appearances on loan at the start of last season before he suffered a serious knee injury.
Nuno also revealed that Ruben Vinagre will probably miss out against Salop due to a virus which kept him out on the weekend win at Goodison Park.
There is better news for Ruben Neves, though. He limped off against the Toffees but Nuno said: "He had a tough kick but he's OK, I hope he's fit for tomorrow.
"(With Diogo) it was a kick at Everton, he didn't train today, he's improving but we made the decision not to involve him tomorrow.
"We have a small issue with Vinagre, he has a virus and probably wont be available for tomorrow."
Ennis has impressed for the under-23s this season, netting six times in 14 appearances.
He's set to be the latest youngster to profit from Wolves having a small senior squad (16 outfield players plus goalkeepers) after Max Kilman and Cameron John featured on the bench in recent weeks.
Ryan Giles also made his debut at Shrewsbury and will be involved again tomorrow.
Nuno said: "We're very pleased with the back-ups we have, Giles is one example who worked in the beginning of the season, he went to Switzerland, played a lot, he's inside the process of the team. He's going to be involved tomorrow
"That's the idea of back-ups and it goes with the idea of the small squad
"We decided Giles before, it's been Cameron (on Saturday), tomorrow its going to be Niall because Diogo is also not involved."
And when asked if he would rotate his XI tomorrow after making six changes for the first tie, the head coach replied: "We have a small squad, 16 players plus goalkeepers plus under-23s, there's no such thing as rotation
"It's a strong XI based on a game plan."
