We spoke with Rodger Armstrong, host of the EvertonBusinessMatters Podcast to get an in-depth look at Marco Silva's side...

Wolves and Everton obviously ended with a draw in their season openers, will Marco Silva have learned from that encounter?

You would like to think so, but if you saw our defending of set pieces and concession of "soft" free kicks against Millwall in the FA Cup it would make you doubt it.

How would you describe Everton's season so far?

Our season was going so well until the 95th minute at Anfield, when Jordan Pickford had a moment of madness and Divock Origi scored from the resulting chaos.

Since then our from has completely tailed off. Lacklustre draws at home to Newcastle & Watford were followed by defeat at City and a pre-Christmas mauling by Spurs.

Yes, we did beat Burnley well on Boxing Day, but we reverted to meek surrender away to Brighton and at home to Leicester.

Victory (quite fortunately) v Bournemouth was followed by defeat at Southampton and an FA Cup horror show.

A victory by the narrowest margin at Huddersfield has hardly had us dancing in the street.

What have the fan base made of Silva this season - are they happy with the boss?

Fans aren't happy on the whole, but I would say the majority are still prepared to give him time due to the mess he inherited.

Marco Silva still hasn't found the right balance with fans.

Nevertheless, it's fair to say fans haven't "connected" with Silva. He does seem tactically inflexible and unwilling to trust players beyond a very tight group.

Our side has lacked leadership and spirit since the Anfield disaster; the manager must carry the can for that.

He doesn't seem like a good motivator; players aren't improving under his tutelage.

Richarlison has obviously been one of the big providers of goals, would you say he's the key man for Wolves to worry about?

Yes. His goal return is excellent, even though he has been played out of position as lone striker for much of the season.

Are there any injury worries at Goodison Park for the game this weekend?

Lucas Digne is suspended & Leighton Baines is struggling, having come off in midweek, so we may not have a recognised LB.

Jerry Mina is also likely to miss out

January has obviously come to a close now - what business did the Toffees do, and can we expect any new players to feature?

Disappointingly we did not make any signings; Evertonians will tell you we still haven't replaced Lukaku......

Richarlison is still the key threat for Everton this season.

Whats your predicted XI for the game?

Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Kenny; Davies, Sigurdsson, Gomes; Bernard, Tosun, Richarlison

Everton and Wolves are two of the teams battling for the 'best of the rest' moniker - who do you think will win out?

We are quite envious of Wolves, you seem to be a Club with a plan and a style of play that the manager is executing very well.

We have a string of tough games at home coming, our form there will define where we finish.

Instinctively I think Wolves greater consistency will be crucial, but the result at Goodison will tell us a lot.

Your match prediction?

I got it right on the opening day with 2-2, this time I'm going to sit on the fence too and say 1-1.
