Wolves will be in line for a seven-figure windfall if ex-striker Sam Vokes makes a big-money move to Stoke City, the Express & Star can reveal.

Burnley front-man is believed to have been the subject of a £9million bid from Championship side Stoke.

And if a move goes through, it's understood that Wolves will receive 25 per cent of any profit on top of the £350,000 they sold Vokes to Burnley for in 2012.

Reports suggest Burnley are holding out for £10m from the Potters. In that scenario Wolves would receive around £2.4m.

Vokes joined Wolves 11 years ago, in 2008, scoring nine goals in 59 appearance over the next four years, mostly as a substitute.

The Welshman, who has netted 11 goals in 61 games for his country, had been a Premier League regular with the Clarets but has slipped down the pecking order, making only one league start since November.

There has also been a suggestion that Stoke will pay £8m for Vokes and send Peter Crouch to Burnley in a swap deal.

Either way, Wolves will be keeping a keen eye on developments ahead of tomorrow's 11pm transfer deadline.

Stoke paid Wolves £12.5m for striker Benik Afobe earlier this month and yesterday bought long-serving captain Danny Batth in a deal which could reach £4m.
