Wolves hat-trick hero Diogo Jota: "It was unbelievable!"

Jota was Wolves' magnificent match-winner as he netted in the 93rd minute to earn remarkable 4-3 victory over Leicester City.

The win also moved Wolves to eighth in the Premier League table.

And Jota, who was the first man since John Richards in 1977 – also against Leicester – to achieve the feat, said: "It was an unbelievable game, this is what the Premier League is about.

"Teams have quality to score loads of goals in one game. Fortunately for us we score the last one and we win.

"It has not been a easy season for me but this was one of the greatest days of my life."

Jota struggled for form at the start of the campaign, failing to find the target in his first 13 Premier League appearances.

Since then he's netted five times in six games and looks back to his best.

"This pre-season wasn't the best for many reasons," he revealed. "I was struggling to get fit.

"I was struggling to feel good on the pitch and feel fast and quick (then) when I started to feel really well on the pitch I got injured again.

"But for me now is a good moment.

"You need to be strong, you know you are able to do more but you just can't. Saturday was a really good day for me and all the team.

"But we have to recognise we have to do better because we were winning twice and conceded goals. We need to improve during the week for the next match."

Jota's winner sparked wild celebrations, with even boss Nuno Espirito Santo joining in as he sprinted down the touchline and joined in with his players.

"I was down on the pitch celebrating and I heard something and I thought who is this guy?!" Jota said.

"Then I saw him get up and run away. In games like this everyone goes crazy. The feelings go high and it is hard to control.

"It is hard to control your feelings in a game like this.

"When you score the winning goal in the last minute he (Nuno) couldn't control his emotions."
